What inspired you to become a Gerson Practitioner?

As a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic and Doctor of Physical Therapy seeing chronic degenerative disease, I began to be interested in dietary and nutritional therapy as the answer to addressing disease that affects the whole body. Throughout 2004-2010 I studied and researched nutrition as it relates to health and disease reversal. Eventually I came upon the Gerson Therapy. In 2011 I enrolled in the Gerson Practitioner Training Program. Being a Gerson Practitioner has totally changed my way of thinking about disease and therapy.

Tell us about your approach to Gerson  Therapy Case Management.

I primarily see conditions that already have an established biopsy-proven cancer diagnosis. I especially have the most experience in breast cancer cases (stage I to IV) since it happens to be the most common referral. Breast cancer in general responds very well to the Gerson Therapy. Depending on the stage and aggressiveness of the disease, some will do well with Gerson Therapy alone, while others will need to be on a more integrative therapy that includes adjunctives such as surgery, hormone blockade (if hormone dependent), intravenous vitamin C and other IV therapies, ozone therapy, etc. The recent addition of the RGCC testing in my case management provides a more specific and personalized therapy protocol.

Occasionally chemotherapy and radiotherapy may add “buying time” so that Gerson clients can continue the Gerson Therapy uninterrupted, though at modified protocol level. The use of chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy is a last resort if there are no other options and the client chooses to include them with the Gerson Therapy, although not a preferred option due to high collateral damage. It is interesting to note that after being on the Gerson Therapy for several months, if it becomes absolutely necessary for a Gerson client to include chemotherapy, there are less side-effects observed.

What do your clients say after working with you?

Six months after completing two years on the full Gerson Therapy and continuing a maintenance protocol, a cancer survivor of triple positive breast cancer told me, “I am doing well. Recent visit with my oncologist was good. My labs were great in his estimation and exam good. No symptoms of any return. […] I still do three juices and one coffee enema per day but supplements are different. My diet continues like you recommended and is quite healthy. I am grateful for my good health. Thank you for guiding me through the Gerson protocol.” – S.

Based on your experience, what advice can you give for those considering the Gerson Therapy?

Read as much as you can about diet, nutrition and how disease can be reversed naturally. A good reading reference is “The China Study” by T. Colin Campbell. Then read about the Gerson Therapy on the Gerson Institute’s website and don’t hesitate to contact the Gerson Institute for help so you can be as prepared and informed as possible.
