The Gerson Institute Practitioner Training Program has been priming physicians worldwide with knowledge about the Gerson Therapy since 1996. While many people suffering from disease have successfully used Gerson Therapy books alone, the modern day world is far more complex and through the years we have learned that the positive impact of a quality physician is tremendous and must be accessible to all.
Sprouting Seeds, Rooting for Growth
Therefore, the last few years have seen the Gerson Institute with an intensified focus on recruiting caring, quality physicians with a range of specialties from around the world. The first step was restructuring the program to utilize online video-conferencing technology. Using high resolution internet meeting software, students hold weekly meetings with the program’s Clinical Instructors over a two to three-year period. The use of this technology eliminates geographic limitations and the need for frequent travel.
Our commitment doesn’t stop there; we’ve continued to beef up academic requirements of students in the program. As a baseline, the program requires students to hold specific credentials such as Medical Doctor (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or Naturopathic Doctor (ND) – to name a few – as well as training in pathophysiology, clinical management skills and blood work interpretation. The Practitioner Training Program requires a total of two to three years to earn certification. Throughout the two to three-year program, students build up a body of clients worldwide and are supported in their management of these clients by the program’s Clinical Instructors.
Students shadow Clinical Instructors in real time, personally manage assigned cases with direct observation by the Clinical Instructors, and receive critique. Two clinical competency exams and an oral exam must be completed successfully in order to graduate and receive certification from the Gerson Institute.
Sounds extensive, right? We’re still not done. Trust is a huge factor between patients and their doctors, and it’s important to us that you know the team leading the next generation of Gerson practitioners…
