Today we honor Paula Bambic, who passed away on June 11, 2019 at the age of 74 surrounded by her beloved husband, Gene, and her loving family. Our hearts are with Gene, Paula’s family and her many friends. We are forever grateful for Paula, her lively spirit and contributions to the Gerson community.
Paula was a twenty-five-year surviving Gerson patient and member of the Gerson Institute’s Board of Directors since 2006. She was also an active member of the Gerson Recovered Patients Network, eagerly speaking to anyone who wanted to learn from her personal experience on the Gerson Therapy.
Paula was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 1991 at the age of 45. After reluctantly having the tumors removed with surgery, Paula and her husband Gene, who was a medical malpractice attorney, researched other options. Their minister reminded them of a friend from church who used the Gerson Therapy to successfully beat her cancer, so after research into the Gerson Therapy, Paula went to the licensed Gerson clinic in Mexico in December 1991, and remained on the Gerson Therapy for two years.
Of her involvement with Gerson, Paula told us, “Being a board member has been such an honor and a gift. To be able to make even a small contribution to this amazing cause is very humbling. I am so grateful for everyone on the board, all those that work tirelessly behind the scenes and each person with whom I have ever been able to share my story. And, of course, our dear Charlotte and her brilliant father.”
Paula loved her life and was so genuine and down-to-earth. Executive Director Anita Wilson recalls, “She was one of the most positive and loving people you could know. She will be missed dearly.”
